Why did they change the memory stick and USB cable for PSP GO?

I just found out about psp go. I looked up a little about it. I like the design, it looks good and bluetooth and 16GB flash sound good. I thought it was good they removed the umd from it to make it lighter. But why did they switch to m2 memory cards. I like the memory stick pro duo. They should have put 2 memory stick holders one on each side. That way you can put 2 32GB plus your flash memory.
Anyway why did sony change from the cheap standard usb cable and m2 which can be adapted to an m2 adapter to be used on the current psp. If it weren't for the memory stick compatibility issue I'd want to buy one because they look good and they're lighter and smaller which makes them easy fit in your pocket.
I'm mainly asking this question to see what you think of the new psp

Personally I think Sony want the PSP Go to fail. They are changing things which don't need changing and removing the ability to play your old PSP games. A friend of mine works in the local GAME store and he recently spoke to the sony rep who came and visited the store and told them that they are only getting 2 PSP Gos to sell on launch.
