Now available are multiplayer modes that allow players to come together via online connections and play up to 15 different modes of the game, supporting up to 16 players and allowing them to explore the entire city. The 15 different game modes are as follows:

In addition to multiplayer modes, Grand Theft Auto IV now offers music downloads made available through a partnership between Rockstar games of Amazon.com. Accessing music downloads as easy as entry code into the next cell phone which will allow you to receive a text message containing artist and song information. If you take advantage of the social club feature discussed below, you will also receive an e-mail which will direct you to an Amazon.com download link where you can download the MP3 for a nominal fee. At this moment in time music downloads through Amazon.com are only available to players that reside in the United States of America; however, plans to expand to an international audience are in the future.

Other downloadable content is also available to the Xbox live playing community. These downloads will include episodic content and will not be available for the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Not much detail is available on downloadable content, but it seems that only Microsoft agreed to offer the service as compared to Sony.

A social club feature is a website provided by Rockstar games that will allow display of game progress, rewards, and other statistics to do it all the players registered with the social club.
